Artichokes with stems, Roman style, packed by hand

They are excellent as an appetizer alongside cold cuts and cheeses, or as a side dish for roasted meats and fish main courses. Cut in half, they become an extraordinary condiment for bruschetta, fresh pasta or risottos. A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a few fresh parsley leaves complete the dish.
