Red Reflection

It was a scorching mid-July day. Graziano and Alessandro were visiting the farmers' fields, who were showcasing their harvests and plantations.
At that moment, a bright red reflection from the window of the nearby farmhouse caught Alessandro's attention, and he turned, intrigued.
He hurried to search among the cucumber plants and spotted a plant of round red chili peppers.

Before him, a cherry pepper, round, shiny, perfect. He tasted it, and the delicate flavor of the pepper emerged, but was immediately covered by the spiciness that overwhelmed that sweetness.
Back home, Alessandro began to research.

From an old agricultural treatise, he studied plant grafts and all existing varieties. His goal was clear: to find a variety capable of enhancing the pepper's sweetness, in perfect balance with the spiciness, without the latter overpowering it.

Seven years passed, during which he tested an infinite number of seeds until he found the right one.
On the palate, a slight initial tingle which, as he continued tasting, dissolved into a unique and persistent sweetness.
With Simona's help, he studied the recipe: the ideal marinade and the most suitable preserving liquid to enhance its flavor and consistency.

Everything was ready; only a name was missing. After so much time, he almost no longer remembered the origin of that intuition, until a flash of memory brought him back to that moment, to the precise instant when everything began.

It all started because of a reflection, a Red Reflection.
