Green Island

On the way back from that seaside holiday, Maria suggested a short detour inland to Puglia, to visit Cerignola.

They left the coast and ventured into the countryside: endless stretches of fields and olive groves accompanied them along the road, until they reached the small village. After a quick tour of the village, they headed back home.
It was then that Graziano, attracted by the seemingly endless expanse of olive trees, stopped the car and decided to continue on foot along a dirt road.
At the end of the path, he found a farmhouse, where a farmer, busy at work, welcomed him.

They chatted for a long time; Graziano visited the olive grove and there he discovered a unique and precious variety: the Bella di Cerignola.
A majestic olive, among the largest and juiciest.
Slightly oval in shape, it grows only in that land, where the sea breeze, though distant, meets the warmth of the Apulian sun.

Struck by its size and fleshy pulp, Graziano bought some olives and, once home, tried to preserve them in brine.
This is how Isola Verde was born: a name that recalled that oasis of olive trees immersed in the countryside which, just like an island in the middle of the sea, enjoyed the sea breeze and the warmth of the sun. A perfect balance, just like those olives: large, full-bodied and with an unmistakable taste.
